What is the book design service?

Making a photo book to hold all your treasured memories that will stand the test of time is an important decision. Determining how many photos you want to include? How to achieve a book design that will be timeless? What will the book cover look like? All questions we can help answer and deliver.
Our book design service includes photo curation and designing beautiful page layouts using your photography. You still get to review the design and make changes to ensure all your favourite photos are included. We will collaborate with you to ensure you are 100% happy before going to print.
How much does professional photo book design cost?
All our magazines and photo books include design because we believe everyone deserves to have a professionally designed keepsake. We also believe its beneficial to step away from designing the book yourself to enjoy the finished product without the frustrations that may arise from the time consuming task of selecting your favourite images or figuring out how to use design software.
We will happily receive your complete set of images and curate them down to a more manageable quantity. Then allow our design team to put together a first draft of your book. All designs include ample revisions, to ensure you’re perfectly happy with the design before the photo book is sent to print. The cost of the magazine or photo book depends on how many pages are included, you’ll find all the costs in our price guide.
I’m not sure what photo book or magazine cover would look best with my photos?
No problem, we’re happy to help guide you. Give us an indication of the style or aesthetic you like, or let our design team surprise you with some options on what that they think would work well with your photos. We’ll work with you until we find something you really love.
Can I make changes to my book design before it goes to print?
Absolutely Yes! During the review process you have ample opportunity to request changes. Once you’re completely happy with the design, we require any final payments owing and then the book design is sent off to be printed.
How many revisions are included?
While most customers are happy with the design after 2-3 rounds, your magazine or photo book is an investment and its important to us that you are 100% happy. We’ll continue to make changes for reasonable requests until you are happy.
Can I add or remove photos once the design process has started?
Yes. While we include an initial photo curation as part of the service, our 20 years experience means we have built up a good understanding of what images are important, and usually helps minimise unnecessary back and forth with changes, but we will happy add or remove photos from the design during the review process.
Is it possible to make changes or design the photo book myself?
We are a design studio so no we don’t allow clients to make changes or design the book. Our past clients love having an experienced book designer’s help. If you prefer having more control over the process, a DIY solution that offers templates is probably better suited to your needs.
How long does the design process take?
Our designer will have your first draft to you within 10-15 business days. After this, it depends on how fast you can send us your feedback, change requests are generally made within 5 business days. Once your book design is approved, manufacture takes 2-3 weeks plus delivery.
