Inside A Custom Wedding Magazine: A Striking Minimalist Warehouse Celebration
Tess and Kain tied the knot in a coffee house with an industrial-style warehouse vibe giving them a minimalist backdrop for their celebrations.
They wanted more than just a photo album — they wanted more of the story told, in style. That’s where The Coffee Table Book came in.
Their wedding was minimalist, modern and full of personality, so their custom wedding magazine needed to reflect every bit of that energy — white-painted brick walls, black and white zig-zig tiled floor, black beams, big black framed windows allowing the sunlight to stream in and one floral structure as a placeholder for the couple to stand during the ceremony.
We designed a 200-page bespoke wedding magazine that played out their day like a cinematic love story. From the moment the couple opened the first page, they were drawn into the special day.
Think full-page hero image of the couple, then behind-the-scenes of the groom getting ready with the boys, whilst the bride gets ready with the girls.
Ceremony at Mecca Coffee in Alexandria
Entering the ceremony venue we are greeted with a black & white industrial space for a first look. The ceremony was filled with joy, laughter and emotion. Candid and family photos followed. Then portraits of the newlyweds and the wedding party in the venue and then a whip around the local area for some outdoor photos as a stark contrast to the black & white interiors.
Reception at Redfern Surf Club
The reception began with heartfelt speeches, with the magazine design allowing us to also include the written speeches along with photos. The bride did a quick dress change into a spectacular colourful outfit, before hitting the dance floor and dancing beneath a disco ball. The moodboard-style collage layouts are filled with the best-of dance moves and off-guard moments in a layout that felt more like a high-end lifestyle magazine than a traditional wedding book.
To elevate our magazines, we use archival-quality matte paper to keep that soft, editorial feel throughout. We use a thicker paper for the cover that is laminated with a soft-touch velvet finish, giving it that effortless, touchable feel that will look good on their home coffee table.
What made this design extra special was the story-driven layouts. We had a collection of written content to scatter nicely throughout the entire magazine design. We used complimentary typography, to keep the editorial pages dynamic, without overwhelming the imagery.
Tess and Kain’s wedding wasn’t just printed. It was published. And now they have something timeless, stylish, and utterly them to flip through forever.
If you’re dreaming of turning your wedding memories into a magazine-style publication that captures your style, we’d love to help you tell your story.
But for now, enjoy Tess & Kain’s celebration unfold on the pages of their custom wedding magazine.
